We at Blake are very conscious of the need to be sustainable in our practice; we are a market leader supplying sustainable postal packaging products to the market and therefore we MUST practice what we preach.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL
POLICY

Blake, for as long as we can remember, has been dedicated to the practice of sound environmental stewardship and the promotion of the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees. These values originate from the company’s top management and have now become second nature through all levels of responsibility within the organization.

WHAT WE PROMISE TO DO

To meet or exceed all applicable Federal legislation, local and company environmental health and safety standards.

Endeavor to only source and market products that are manufactured by companies with specified environmental policies.Pollution has never been acceptable! This is why Blake closely monitor all aspects of our operation for prevention of pollution. For example, with transport and distribution, we maximize space utilization on vehicles to minimize the requirement for extra delivery vehicles. Recycling has always been at the forefront of the Company. We participate in recycling to the greatest practical extent to reduce impact on landfills and promote recovery of valuable resources. All our plastic and cardboard waste is baled and recycled using a local recycling company. In the last year we have recycled 200 tons. Have specific concerns for product sustainability, i.e., producing a range of FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified and from well managed forest sources. Strive to continuously improve our commitment to the above stated principles through exercising our EMS (Environmental Management System) Action Plan by using improved technology and diligence.

THE BLAKE FOUNDATION

The Blake Foundation is the charitable arm of the Blake organization. Given the history of the Blake product (being envelopes), literacy has always been very important to us, and we therefore recognize the difference a good education makes to every child’s future. We decided to create a foundation program that was based around providing education to children, to do this we have partnered with a wonderful charity called School in a Bag, whose ingenious SchoolBag solution has helped thousands of children across the globe.

So far we have donated…

Supporting social mobility for children

One of our many missions is to support social mobility for children by ensuring they have access to the materials they need to learn and be educated. Being able to hand each bag directly to the children was incredible and ensured that every penny invested in this project would have the impact we envisaged. There are millions of children in the world who will never go to school, and this will continue to be denied to them unless we can make a difference.
